What to do in Castlecomer
Castlecomer has always been the main market town for north Kilkenny consisting of several interesting shopping options. Traditionally, with its unique lime tree lined square, it was always a picturesque town.
Recently the focus on tourism has catapulted Castlecomer into a genuine tourist attraction with a range of places to visit, eat out and stay.
It has come to the fore on the craft front, something that was always part of the community, with the recent opening of the Estate Yard Craft Centre. Sean Lawlor Pottery in the Mill is another unique visitor site.
The ongoing redevelopment of The Demesne, the re-stocking of the Angling Lakes, The Big Bridge, our mining heritage trail (more details on mining can be found here),
The new 18 hole Championship Golf Course,
New restaurants, Art Gallery, Library, bookshops, beautiful churches,
The Shank Yard, The Spa Well and excellent sports facilities.
Further outside the immediate area you have Dunmore Caves, Clogh Village, Jenkinstown park, Timahoe Round Tower, Kilkenny Castle and many more....
